To create a safe place in the community where people can come and have a good time.
Providing an accessible venue on South Whidbey for dance, music and creative expression.

About DanceAway:
DanceAway is a community dance that is open to all ages. We want to create a positive atmosphere for everyone to enjoy.
It is open to individuals, families, and all who want to have a good time. DanceAway is a place to dance*, laugh, play, and move in a safe and supportive environment; To create this we require that this event be drug and alcohol free. We want to accommodate all types of dance and creative expression. We offer a wide variety of music to move to that is enjoyable by all generations.

*DanceAway's Definition of "Dance": The movement of body in no particular rhythm or order. Using your body to respond to and express the music. Dance can have a structure but it's the structure of the moment.

From 7-9pm: will focus on (but is not limited to) Swing, Salsa, 60s/70s/80s Pop/Rock, World, Funk, and more.
From 9-11pm: will focus on (but is not limited to) Current Top 40, Techno, Hip-Hop, World Influences, and much more.
Children under 12 must have adult supervision.
